Chris Bongars Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Chris has 22 years of experience in the field of business development, clean technologies, large-scale industrial and infrastructure project development and management. He has successfully created, developed and managed projects and businesses in diverse countries in Asia, Europe and Africa. Based in Asia since 1995, Chris was Project Director for Air Liquide group until the end of 2001, developping and managing industrial projects. He then joined the Suez group as Ondeo Industrial solutions, Vice President Asia Pacific, pioneering innovative business solutions in water & environmental services in Asia, prior to starting SustainAsia in 2004. Chris is Vice Chairman of the Sustainable Development committee of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hong Kong, Organizational Stakeholder of the Global reporting Initiative (GRI) in the Netherlands, and chairman of the Sustainable Development working group of the Business Environment Council in Hong Kong. Chris is an inaugural member of the Sustainable Investment Market (SIM) classification panel of the Financial and Climate Exchange (FEX) in Australia. He is also a frequent speaker on issues of sustainable development, clean technologies and renewable energy. Chris holds various engineering degrees with the E.N.S.C.P (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris) and Paris VI University, as well as certificates in "International Project Management" program from INSEAD in Singapore and in "Public Policy program - Public Private Partnership" from NUS Singapore and Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Pascale Dutronc Managing Director
Pascale is a senior corporate governance, general counsel, financial services and economics professional with a solid background working with the Financial Market Authority in France and large multi-national Financial Services firms. She has worked in France, the USA and Asia, Hong Kong (China), where she resides since 2003. Pascale started her career in 1984 with CIC (Credit Industrial and Commercial) in Paris, a major investment bank in France, as a trader on monetary markets. In 1995, she joined the French stock exchange control commission (COB, the equivalent of SEC), where she was responsible for the accreditation of mutual funds and assets management companies. In 2000, she headed legal department of Be Partner, a fund of fund and subsidiary of HSBC Group in Paris, at the time of the acquisition of CCF by HSBC. She then relocated to Dallas, Texas, for a first expatriation with her husband and two children, where she lived for 3 years and got involved into voluntary activities for a local charity. Since 2004, she was the General Manager of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hong Kong. In her position, she developed an extensive network of high level relationship with key business and community leaders. She grew the French chamber membership by over 40% and organised successfully high profile activities to develop the business between French companies in Hong Kong, Macau and South China (Pearl River Delta) and enhance the image of the French and business community. She was also actively involved in the Sustainable Committee of the French Chamber as well as Intercham Chambers.
Pascale holds a Master in Economics and Finance from Paris University, she completed an MBA with IAE - Institut d'Administration des Entreprises, and a post-graduate Certificate in Actuarial studies when acting as trader on the Paris Stock Exchange.

Dr. Philippe Bergeron Associate Director
Dr. Bergeron’s is an environmental and technologies expert whose experience spans thirty years as director and manager of environmental policy, management and technology capacity building projects and programmes covering a wide range of “brown”, “blue” and “green” environmental issues. With professional experience in 45 countries including 18 industrialising countries in Asia, his expertise is environmental policing, programming and financing, triple bottom line management and investing for business and environmental project management. Independent consultant since 2004, with current projects located in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Korea, the Philippines as well as Turkey and Romania, Dr. Bergeron formerly occupied various directorship and advisory positions in Europe and Asia: From 2002 until 2004, as regional director AHT Group AG, Essen, Germany, he also endorsed regional directorship for EU Accession and NIS countries and East and South East Asia. From 1993 until 2002 he was managing director Regional Institute of Environmental technology (RIET), Singapore, a public non-profit organization acting as environmental business facilitator, think tank, strategic consultancy, training organisation, publisher and developer of conferences across Asia, which Dr. Bergeron designed and launched with the initial support of the Singapore Government and the European Commission. From 1977 until 1982 he occupied various directorship, advisory and management positions in Asia (Singapore, Japan and Korea) with several environmental consultancy firms. Dr. Bergeron holds a Chemical Engineering Degree from E.N.S.C.S (Ecole Nationale Superieure de Chimie de Strasbourg) and a Doctorate from the faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Karlsruhe, (Prof. Dr. Hartmann). He has published several reports, white papers and articles, and is a frequent speaker at numerous environmental and business conferences across the globe. Gillian H. Catska Associate Consultant
Gillian Castka has over 25 years experience in project management, infrastructure planning and development, design work, site supervision and contract administration. Her involvement in construction projects as both consultant and client provides her with a thorough understanding of the total engineering solution required for management of multi-disciplinary infrastructure works.
Gillian has extensive experience of water and wastewater projects and has knowledge of the China & Hong Kong infrastructure and planning, and has provided independent expert witness reports. Valery Chiu China Representative Valery Chiu is an entrepreneur with seven years experience currently working in Hong Kong and China. Valery was previously a manager at Eurone a computer parts distribution company in France, Taiwan and China. He also held executive positions at Oracle DMD in Dublin (Ireland) as well as at 3Com in London (UK). Henry K.W. Chow Associate Consultant
Henry has over 20 years of working experience as an expert in Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) and Social Compliance in the following sectors: consumer goods, textile & apparel, footwear supply chains and chemicals and petrochemicals industries. Henry started his career in 1982 as a petrochemical plant supervisor at Esso (HK) Ltd and then as China representative for Union Carbide. He then joined Polytainers Inc. Canada in 1988, as Quality Control technologist, and then Tridon Inc. Tenessee in the US, as Polymer Engineer. From 1992 until 1998, Henry was Distribution Safety Standards Manager and Regional EHS Coordinator for Asia Pacific at Arco Chemicals. He then joined Gap International Sourcing as Vendor Compliance Manager, Global Compliance, where he managed a team of 15 auditors in the Greater China and North Asia region, covering more than 550 factories in less than two years. In his latest position as Managing Director and Lead Auditor of CSR Ltd, formerly known as Nissa Corporate Compliance Services, he provides independent compliance audit, social an environmental compliance assessments and training in the Greater China and Asia region. Henry is a certified SA8000 lead auditor and a registered safety officer under the HKSAR labor department since 1997, and holds a certificate of advanced Environmental Management System (EMS) ISO14001 auditing course from the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) in Hong Kong. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada since 1990. Henry holds a BSc. Chemical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada since 1980, a Master of Social Science in Corporate Environmental Governance from HK University and a Master in Environmental Engineering Management from the University of Technology in Sydney, as well as a Certificate Program on China Labor Laws from HKMA.

Lori Figueiredo Associate Consultant
Lori is a learning strategist who evolved the Syzygy! approach by researching and applying simple yet effective people development principles over the last 20 years. She compiled this know-how, into the Syzygy! toolkit. Lori draws from her experience in national, regional and global people development projects. Over the last 12 years, while based in Singapore, she has successfully implemented learning solutions with leading corporations such as Cisco Systems, Singapore Airlines, Standard Chartered Bank and Hewlett Packard. Dr. David Green Associate Consultant
Dr. David Green, is an environmental expert with broad international experience in: Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Audit, Environmental Planning and Environmental Management Systems, with extensive experience in environmental health and pollution control air quality, acoustics and noise control, contaminated land and asbestos abatement. Twenty six years experience in environmental pollution, twelve years experience in EIA and five years in enforcement and administration of environmental legislation with Local Authorities: Dr. Green began work in environment fields in Europe (1979) and has worked internationally since (China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand), including commissions for World Bank and Asian Development Bank, as well as large corporations such as: Bank of America, British Oxygen, Cisco, CLP and Shell. Dr. Green has a BSc (Hon) in Applied Biology, CNAA (1978) and is a Doctor in philosophy and PhD in Ecological & Toxicological Studies on Metalliferous Streams, CNAA 1984. He is a founding fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Environmental Impact Assessment (1996) and a fellow of the Royal Society of Health (1986), he is also a member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management, the International Association of Impact Assessment, the British Toxicology Society and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. Rita Leung Associate Consultant
Rita Leung is one of the few native Hong Kong Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) expert with over eight years experience providing advisory services in Hong Kong and China. Previously, Rita was with WWF Hong Kong, before joining the Business Environment Council (BEC) Hong Kong in 1999 as Sustainable Strategies Specialist and then Sustainable Development Manager. Rita is now an independent consultant who specializes in CSR advisory and research, CSR awareness programs and training, as well as CSR/HSE/Sustainability reporting and assessment to GRI guidelines. Michael P. See Associate Consultant Michael See is an Energy and Climate Change expert. Born in Singapore and educated in the UK, where Michael pursued his studies in Fuel & Energy Engineering and a Masters in Environmental Pollution Control at Leeds University, doctorate in Combustion Engineering at London University Imperial College, and MBA at Cass Business School, London. In environmental economics, Michael authored the successful publication Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Global Business Aspects for Bertelsmann Springer Science & Business GmbH, in 2001. He proposed the IRISK-EVAREST Initiative to save five islands at risk from sea-level rise – Tuvalu, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia and Maldives. The “Clean Development Mechanism” of the Kyoto Protocol is one of Michael’s major areas of work in developing financial resources for the emerging economies of Asia and South America, including eight Least Developed Countries; Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, Cambodia, Lao, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Nepal. For Africa, he started the Energy and Environmental Partnership Africa (EEPA) that will utilize renewable energy technology from Canada, Germany, France, Spain, and USA. This is currently being developed with the UNEP Regional Office for Africa, Nairobi. As a firm advocate of human rights, he has provided assistance and guidance to personnel protected under UNHCR in Bosnia-Herzegovina and South Asia. He is involved in energy and power generation projects that utilize energy efficient techniques and renewable energy technologies with key priority on sustainable development and socio-economic protection of host communities.

James Pearson Associate Consultant
James is a non-financial risk specialist providing risk and asset management services to the financial community throughout the Asia Pacific region. He is the Non Financial Risk advisor to an ASEAN based investment fund. With over 17 years of experience in the international environmental health safety social and risk consultancy industry and having been located in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Bangkok, Mr. Pearson has extensive experience in management consultancy, project management and direction of multi-jurisdictional and multi facility studies addressing business and management risks from an environmental health, safety, social awareness and sustainable perspective. Since relocating to Asia in 1992 he has advised many major Hong Kong and Asian companies on the management and technical aspects of their investments including real estate and development portfolios. His other clients have included many Fortune 500 companies in a wide range of industries from property and real estate, hotel and tourism, infrastructure, power and utility, manufacturing and the financial sector. Mr. Pearson has extensive experience in non-financial risk issues relating to property and share/asset transactions throughout Asia Pacific. This often involved the comparison of environmental performance against World Bank and other international loan lending criteria such as the Equator Principles. He has managed a number of audit programs as part of the development and implementation of environmental management systems for local and international based companies. Dennis T. G. Tan Associate Consultant
Dennis has over 17 years of working experience as an expert in Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) in the following sectors: Electronics, metalworking, petrochemicals, telecommunication and semiconductor industries. Dennis started his career in 1985 as a Project Engineer and then Human Resource Officer at one of the subsidiary of the Singapore Technologies group, a Singapore government linked company. In 1990, he joined one of the Matsushita subsidiary as senior Health and Safety Engineer. His efforts in accident and lost time prevention won him an in-house Director's Award for making significant EHS improvements in 19941. He then joined the Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore (PCS) as Senior Safety Officer coordinating safety issues on Singapore Jurong Island, including the expansion project of PCS Phase II. In his latest position as regional manager EH&S, Asia/Pacific, for AT&T Lucent Technologies Inc. from Year 1995 until 2000, Dennis acquired an in-depth knowledge of the diverse regulatory requirements of Asian countries. He has provided since related consultancy, training and other technical services to a number of multi-national firms. During his various assignments, Dennis efforts efforts in managing EH&S were consistently rewarded: Dennis and his team won the Accident Free Premier awards for two years in a row (Year 1989 and 1990) and for PCS in 1995, from the Singapore Ministry of Manpower. He also won the bronze medal from Matsushita in 1994. In 2000, Dennis together with three other Lucent employees under his supervision, received the Lucent EH&S Hero award (This award was introduced by Lucent in 1998). Dennis has a M.Sc. in Building Science from National University of Singapore, NUS (NUS Gold Medalist winner for Year 1994), an MBA from NUS Business School class of 2000, B.Sc. Electronic & Electrical Engineering Second Upper Honors) from University of Manchester, UK in 1984.
